TEL AVIV – An Israeli army officer was sacked from his commanding position on Sunday (30/4/2023) after participating in a political protest in uniform.

Hebrew Channel 14 identified the officer as major. The report added, “He was seen on television participating in a pro-government reform rally on Thursday.”

The news channel quoted military sources as saying, “The officer was stripped of his commanding authority, his actions violated all military orders.”

Thousands of right-wing Israelis took to the streets on Thursday, in support of the Israeli government’s recently announced judicial reforms Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israeli Justice Minister Yariv Levin.
