The lawsuit filed in the Montreal court claims several errors in a report published in September 2021. “The report and the article contain false statements about the involvement of Mr. Jean-Noël Lacroix in the company […] in the sense that Mr. Maxime Morency would have acted as a candidate ”.

According to the document, Jean-Noël Lacroix “mistakenly claimed to be the owner of the company” when he was “just a subcontractor”, namely the sales manager. Maxime Morency claims to be the sole owner of Armoires PMM.

The motion of appeal states that the program was just a “pretext” to talk about the troubled past of a subcontractor, Jean-Noël Lacroix.

The report would therefore be devoid of real public interest and defamatory according to the Quebec company. Due to the loss of customers, Armoires PMM then demands $ 4.8 million for canceled contracts and $ 100,000 for reputational damage.
