Arminia Bielefeld’s Rising Success: Gaining Stability and Consistency

Week after week Arminia is gaining stability. Sports director Mutzel, coach Kniat and captain Klos had repeatedly pointed out that after the radical change in the summer, it would take time for everything to fall into place. Now it actually looks like the wheels are meshing together.

More about Arminia Bielefeld

After the victories over the tumbling teams from Mannheim (3:1) and Duisburg (1:0), people didn’t really trust the roast. Against this background, the game against FC Ingolstadt was a kind of maturity test. Arminia passed it – with some flying colors.

Much more consistent than in Duisburg

The progress in play and tactics is unmistakable; self-confidence increases with every success. While the Arminen acted too timidly in Duisburg and failed to score the second goal, the DSC took a much more consistent approach to the decision against Ingolstadt.

No doubt: the timing to host favorites Hamburger SV as an underdog in the second round of the cup could be worse.

The fact that the gap to relegation place three in the league is now fewer points (five) than the lead to relegation place 17 (six) was not to be expected after the unsuccessful start to the season. Is it appropriate to look up now? No matter, it can’t be prevented anyway. Why? The young team around their experienced and still strong leader Fabian Klos certainly doesn’t look as if their hunger has been satisfied.

And no one can blame them for the fact that the fans, who once again supported the team against Ingolstadt, are dreaming of (even) more after years of desolation.
