Armenian Authorities Claim Russia’s Involvement: Thousands Flee Nagorno-Karabakh

Armenian authorities state that around 5,000 people have entered Armenia from Nagorno-Karabakh since Azerbaijan took control of the region.

On Monday, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is cracking down, after the Armenian authorities claimed that Russia was behind the protests, writes Reuters.

According to the Russian news agency TASS, Russian authorities say they will continue to help Armenia with security in the country.

The conflict may indicate that Russia and President Vladimir Putin are about to lose their hitherto considerable influence in the area.
