“Conflicts must be resolved on the basis of mutual concessions. Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia are ready to make the same concessions as Azerbaijan will want to make, ”Nikol Pashinjan said in an interview with AFP in the Armenian capital Yerevan.
The Armenian prime minister also believed that hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were provoked by Turkey’s “active commitment” to support Azerbaijan, denouncing a “terrorist war against a people fighting for their freedom.”
‘This war would not have started without the active efforts of Turkey. While it is true that the Azerbaijani authorities have been actively spouting belligerent rhetoric for the past 15 years, the decision to start the war was made with the full support of Turkey, ”said Pashinjan.
The Armenian prime minister also said on Tuesday that he was “confident” that Russia would come to his aid if the country were directly attacked. “I am convinced that if the situation requires it, Russia will honor its obligations” under an existing military alliance between the two countries, Pashinjan affirmed.
