Armenia Strengthens Cooperation with NATO Amid Cooling Relations with Moscow

Yerevan is increasing cooperation with NATO amid cooling relations with Moscow.

Armenia, which announced in February that relations with the CSTO, a military alliance led by the Russian Federation, took another affirmative step, showing the intentions of the Armenian side to diversify its policy to ensure state security.

how come reported in the Ministry of Defense of the republic, Yerevan agreed with NATO on a military cooperation program for this year. The parties also outlined the prospects for cooperation next year.

When the Armenian delegation visited the headquarters of the Atlantic Alliance in Brussels, the parties discussed the results of the support that the bloc gives to military educational institutions and training centers in Armenia. The interlocutors discussed the current military cooperation programs and the possibility of their expansion.

Meanwhile, in February, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that the republic is de facto ice participation in CSTO, as well as warning: withdrawal from the group will be formalized de jure if it does not fulfill obligations to Yerevan.

In addition, it was reported that the Armenian authorities began to actively discuss the prospect membership republic in the European Union.
