The 34-year-old Armée has cycled for Lotto for the past seven seasons. Before that, he wore the Topsport Vlaanderen shirt. A stage win in the 2017 Tour of Spain is his most beautiful victory. This season he was allowed to cheer once, in the French Tour of Poitou-Charentes.
At Team Qhubeka Assos, the successor of NTT Pro Cycling, Armée is reunited with his ex-teammate Victor Campenaerts. On the website of his new team, Armée says that he is “super motivated” and cycling is “a passion” for him, which he also feels in the team.
“I’ve had some personal success in the past, but that doesn’t stop me from trying to get even better. I want to live up to this with the passion, knowledge, equipment and racing mindset of Team Qhubeka Assos,” he explains.
Armée wants to put his experience at the service of the team and is looking forward to reuniting with Campenaerts. “We were on the same team for two years and lived in the same city for the past two years.”
Armée also underlines the fact that the team does a lot of charity work to promote cycling in South Africa. “This makes the team even more special for me. It is an honor to be part of this.”
