UPDATE. The 42-year-old armed man took refuge on Saturday evening at his mother’s home on rue du Camp du Drap d’Or. He was finally arrested this Sunday morning shortly after 10:00 a.m.
The man threatened to commit suicide. An ambulance from the Audruicq fire brigade made up of three people, the Audruicq National Gendarmerie and the mayor of Balinghem went to the site on Saturday evening. The police began negotiations with the maniac. Negotiators came specially from Amiens and Lille who were sent to the site. After fifteen hours of negotiations, the maniac was finally arrested this Sunday morning shortly after 10:00 a.m. Slightly injured, he was transported to the Calais hospital center escorted by the gendarmes.
