According to Sky News The police were notified of the incident around 08.30 British time on Saturday morning.

The arrested man is said to be a 19-year-old man from Southampton.

Queen Elisabeth (95) spends Christmas in the castle with Prince Charles and Camilla and the rest of the family. She canceled the traditional Christmas celebration on the Sandringham estate due to the corona pandemic.

The police are in control

– We can confirm that the security processes were triggered just moments after the man entered the area, and he did not enter any buildings, says Rebecca Mears in the Thames Valley police, who is investigating the incident in collaboration with the London police.

The police have control over the man.

– Members of the royal family have been informed of the incident. We do not think there is any major danger to the public, says Mears.

Shared own grief in Christmas speech Saturday

The news came shortly after the queen gave an unusually personal Christmas speech to the people in which she opened up about the grief over her husband Prince Philips’ death.

The monarch said she and her family miss the 99-year-old Duke of Edinburgh, who died in April. Dressed in a red dress and pearls, the queen sat at a table with a framed picture of her and her husband from the diamond wedding day in 2007.

– Although this is a time of great joy and merriment for many, Christmas can be difficult for those who have lost loved ones. Especially this year, I understand why, Elizabeth said in the speech that was sent on the afternoon of the first day of Christmas.

During this year’s Christmas celebration, the family especially misses one well-known laugh, she said.

– At the same time as I and my family miss him very much, I know that he would have wanted us to enjoy Christmas, the queen said.

She added that her family gives her great joy and emphasized that this year she has had four new great-grandchildren.

– Even though covid-19 again means that we can not celebrate exactly as we would have liked, we can still enjoy many joyful traditions, be it Christmas carols – as long as it is a well-known melody – Christmas tree decorations, giving and receiving gifts or watch a favorite movie that we all know the end of, said the 95-year-old.
