“Help from our Western partners has already arrived for several weeks and has significantly improved the positions of our troops, because artillery duels are now one of the main forms of confrontation. Those guns that shoot like sniper rifles, these “three axes” (long-range howitzers M777. – ed.), of course, they came in a timely manner and quite appropriately,” said the head of the OVA.
Now, according to him, the enemy “does not feel as free as before.”
“Help came, the guys mastered it professionally, and these guns helped stabilize the situation,” Starukh said.
According to him, the front line in the Zaporozhye region has already been stabilized, the Armed Forces of Ukraine confidently hold it and rebuff the Russian occupiers when they try to advance. At the same time, he stressed that it is not yet possible to talk about a “big counter-offensive” of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Starukh noted that there is now a relative calm in the Zaporozhye region compared to the situation about three weeks ago, when the enemy was building up his forces there. However, later the invaders transferred these forces to the Kherson and Lugansk regions.
- June 10 Mayor of Melitopol Ivan Fedorov reportedthat the Armed Forces of Ukraine pushed back the front line from Zaporozhye by 5-7 km in two weeks.
- On June 19, Fedorov said that the Ukrainian military had advanced for more than 10 km in the direction of the temporarily occupied Melitopol.
- In today’s evening summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reportedthat the enemy did not conduct active operations in the Zaporozhye direction, but continues to shell.
