MEXICO CITY (apro).- Armando Guadiana Tijerina, businessman and candidate for the government of Coahuila for Morena, offered this Friday to donate a thousand hectares of land in the entity to install a Tesla plant.
In a video broadcast through his social networks, with an English version and tagging Tesla tycoon Elon Musk, Guadiana Tijerina, who is considered one of the wealthiest men in the entity, raised the donation of his own lands.
It did so specifically for the Carboniferous Region, a place that for at least a decade has not been able to reorient its productive vocation of coal mining.
In the midst of the regional crisis due to the problems of Altos Hornos de México (AHMSA) and the ups and downs in coal demand by the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE), the morenista issued his message retaking the proposals of President López Obrador, who has obstinate that the Tesla plant be built in the center of the country, near the area of the Felipe Ángeles International Airport (AIFA), which is an emblematic work of his administration.
Tesla’s facility has been the subject of widespread controversy after announcing that it would go to Santa Catarina, Nuevo León, but recently it has run into shortages of natural resources, mainly water.
“The president is right: the urban areas such as Guadalajara, Mexico City and Monterrey are too populated and services are increasingly expensive for the population.
“That is why I offer Elon Musk a thousand hectares in the Carboniferous Region, so that he can establish himself there. 74 miles south of the border with the United States, we have Highway 57 Piedras Negras-Mexico; railway, energy, airport. We all have and above all, well-prepared technical workers who have worked in coal mines and in the steel industry in the center of the state of Coahuila”.
