Arkane released several new details about Deathloop

Bethesda and Arkane have shown even more from the upcoming sneak / shooter game Deathloop – which will still be launched on 14 September this year.

The latest trailer lasts for almost ten minutes, and you can see the whole thing at the top of the article. Here we join the elimination of one of a total of eight goals, all of which must be whacked before protagonist Colt can break out of the eternal time cycle on Blackreef Island.

There is a lot going on in shooting and sneaking, but the video also offers more comprehensive explanations of Colt’s abilities in his arsenal. Arkane, for example, highlighted Reprise, a feature that lets you rewind time if you die. This can be used up to twice before you die completely and have to start the cycle again.

Permanent capabilities and upgrades

As you slaughter your way through the island’s many enemies, you will build up the charge with Residuum. This currency allows for permanent upgrades and access to new weapons, which can be picked up between each cycle. By killing targets, you can also pick up new upgrades, and if you want you can kill them again and again to unlock more.

Otherwise, the trailer places a lot of emphasis on being very observant. For those who take a little extra time, there are tons of clues and alternative solutions to track down in Deathloop, which you can pick up, for example, by listening to conversations between the enemies.

Arkane was also brief on how Julianna should work. This assassin can be controlled by other players, and when you hear a short but loud stanza, it means your world has been invaded. There are still some questions about this mechanic, such as how often you can invade or whether it is possible to avoid invasions.

Deathloop comes to PC and PlayStation 5 on September 14th.

We took a look at the game earlier this year.
