Apart from the name that was tarnished due to the issue of Redfall’s release which seemed half-hearted, Arkane Studios still has a name with a strong positive association due to the release of their games. Arkane Lyon, for example, is the brain behind the Dishonored and Deathloop series, which is currently still considered one of the best open world first person games. It’s unimaginable what their creative energy could achieve if we started talking about more popular franchises, like superhero games. Something they are doing right now.
Taking advantage of The Game Awards 2023 last week, Dev. Dishonored and Deathloop – Arkane Lyon comes with a quite surprising announcement. Together with Marvel Games, he will be responsible for the Marvel’s Blade project which is defined as an adult-themed third person single-player game that will be set in Paris. However, this announcement also generated its own confusion.
The announcement of Arkane Lyon’s Marvel’s Blade game sparked confusion about its potential exclusive release.
What confusion? That’s right, release platform. As we know, Arkane Lyon itself is currently under the Microsoft banner, which incidentally in the last few releases, such as Starfield, for example, has resulted in skipping the Playstation. But on the other hand, the first teaser for Marvel’s Blade strangely doesn’t mention the Xbox Series, PC or Game Pass release platform at all like other Microsoft titles, which raises a little hope for Playstation gamers. Unfortunately, there is no information regarding the negotiation process regarding the release platform that Microsoft has carried out with Marvel Games.
Marvel’s Blade itself is currently still in the development process with an undetermined release window. What do you think? Will it end up being exclusive or not?
