Arkane Austin’s Redfall Disappointment Leads to Return to Single-Player RPGs and Immersive Sims

Arkane has always been known for unique, intelligent, and well-crafted single-player adventures such as Dishonored and Prey. Still, Arkane Austin decided to try something different with Redfall, a multiplayer adventure game released in May.

Unfortunately, the game was half-baked at best, lacking the promised features, had some poor ideas, and was ultimately considered a disappointment.Looks like the team has gotten the memo as their latestJob ListIt’s heavily implied that Arkane Austin is back to doing what they’re really good at once again.

As noticed by IdleSloth84_ on Twitter, the studio is currently looking for a lead technical engineer, which gives us some clues as to what their next steps might be, as it says applicants should“Familiar with single-player action RPGs and immersive sims”. It was also mentioned that the next project is a triple-A game, so it doesn’t look like Bethesda and Microsoft have lost faith in the studio.
