Arjen Robben makes his comeback in professional football!
As FC Groningen announced on Saturday afternoon, the 36-year-old former Bayern professional will be part of the professional team of the Dutch first division team from the coming season.
Further details will be announced at a press conference on Sunday at 2.30 p.m. by Robben and Groningen’s technical director Mark-Jan Fledderus.

“The club can use any help during this time to overcome the corona crisis. I myself have participated in various actions and thought about what else I could do for our FC,” Robben is quoted in a club statement.

But what I do know is that my commitment and motivation will not be lacking. It is now my dream to play again in the FC Groningen jersey. “
Robben had been trained in the youth of FC Groningen and had started his professional career there. After positions at PSV Eindhoven, Chelsea FC and Real Madrid, the Dutchman played for Bayern from 2009 to 2019.
