Aris Defeats BATE Borisov in Second Qualifying Round of Champions League

TASS, August 1st. The Cypriot football club “Aris” beat the Belarusian BATE Borisov with a score of 5:3 in the second leg of the second qualifying round of the Champions League. The meeting was held in the Hungarian city of Mezokovesd.

Belarusian clubs are allowed to compete under the auspices of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA), but they play home games on a neutral field.

In the 2023/24 season, Russian clubs do not play in European competitions due to the decision of the UEFA Executive Committee in connection with the events in Ukraine.
