The mayor of La Paz, Iván Arias, described this Saturday as a “error” the lack of obligation of vaccines against Covid-19 at the beginning of school enrollment, scheduled for January 16, at least in primary school children.
“It seems to me very good that the recordings begin, but, for exampleIt seems to me a mistake that vaccination is not a requirementIt seems to me that it should be a requirement that at least children be vaccinated against Covid-19; i.e., I don’t understand why we don’t make this requirement”, Mayor Arias said.
In recent days, the Ministry of Education has excluded that the anticovid vaccination is a requirement for school enrollment; however, it is the regular vaccination of the Expanded Immunization Schedule (EPI).
2023 Administration School Enrollment Begins Jan. 16, School Work Feb. 1according to the provision of the Ministry of Education.
For vaccination against the coqueluchewhich is part of the Expanded Immunization Program (EPI), the The La Paz mayor’s office has enabled the municipal prehospital and emergency room system Auxilio La Paz 167, located at Av. Simón Bolívar and Wenceslao Argandoña, as well as the five municipal hospitals La Merced, Los Pinos, La Portada, Cotahuma and La Paz.
Vaccination is available 24 hours a day from Monday to Sunday.
Meanwhile, the different doses of the Covid-19 vaccine are administered at the same points, also in the Plaza San Francisco from 14:00 to 20:00, Monday to Friday.
