Arianna Tricomi he is one of those people you can’t forget. Energy, positivity, desire to overcome one’s limits are just some of the characteristics of this girl Corvara, in Alta Badiawho won three consecutive times the Freeride World Tourthe most important professional circuit in terms of freeride competitions. Today it is told. Or rather he talks about his passion. Because within the three episodes of the series Arianna’s Van Life Diaryproduced by Troublehaus Production and available to the public starting from November 26th on Youtube channel of the Red Bull athletethere is nothing self-referential but only the pleasure of talking about his life between descents on skis and ascents with sealskins, climbing steep slopes and heavenly visions at unique heights: “It’s my first multi-episode series and, for this reason, it is a new and pleasant experience to face. I explained my winter, from start to finish: the first episode is legata al freeridethe second is exploratorywith historical features as well, the third a little melancholy because it speaks of the end of winter.”

In addition to this life diary, do you have the habit of writing in a material diary?
“Actually I actually have two. The first is more personal. I notice that I use it in particular periods, especially when I’m saddest. In the future I will also try to note down the happy moments, I promise. The second, however, is chaotic because I mix notes, ideas, projects. The choice of the title is linked precisely to this concept: the van it is a real lifestyle and brings together many emotions. Many people on social media asked me for information: I wanted to talk about the intimacy of my days in the van in the winter.”

On this journey he had several companions.
“These are people I trust and with whom I have a good feeling. I put my existence in their hands and they do the same with me when we are on the snow. The more the years pass, the more I understand how important it is to share the time with those who make me feel good. In my case, I wanted there to be a mountain guide to make it clear to those who watch the episode that it is necessary to always move safely in the mountains.” .

Is there the term “fear” in your vocabulary?
“Absolutely yes. And fortunately it exists. Because when there is fear, you have the strength to reflect, analyze and be grateful that everything went well. I would like to point out, however, that you must not have a fearful approach in what is done, but respectful.”

Does respect fit into a hypothetical podium of key words in your life?
“Of course. And with respect I would put tranquility and fun: the first word is the basis of life, from my point of view. Respect for oneself, for one’s tiredness, for the mountain, for people and their opinions The second and third words are very related: if I am calm, I can have fun and perform better. Stress has never helped me to enjoy the various moments of my day to the fullest.”

How do you prepare for freeriding?
“It’s a path that I’ve changed over the years. At 20 I was very powerful. Now I have to take better care of my body and train with greater precision. I realized this especially after my knee injury. What matters most, however, it’s mental peace. I understood that the body always follows what the mind tells it.”

Do you have a method guaranteed by years of testing?
“I usually spend the summer in the mountains, mainly climbing. A preparation that includes both physical and mental training. I compensate for the lack of work for the lower part of the body in autumn with exercises in the gym, sometimes even with a personal trainer who follows me for a long time.”

How much of your mother is a skier and your father is a former military pilot?
“I grew up with my mother who passed on to me the passion for skiing. For me she was the central figure in my growth. I understood my father later and he gave me his tranquility and his tenacity. I remember that little before the last race of the season, when I was fighting for the world title, he said: ‘I understand your need for adrenaline well: it’s what keeps us alive’. It helped me a lot in that moment when I was very nervous.”

Plans for the short-medium term future?
“After a four-year break I will return to compete in the Freeride World Tour. I am happy and motivated now that I have made this decision. When I received the invitation from the organizers I wanted to reflect before giving the final OK. It would not have been right to deprive myself of the I’ll enjoy living this experience again. I’ll try to confirm myself at the top but the important thing will be to have fun.”

Other ideas?
“I would like to continue developing videos and projects. Looking a little further, however, I want to become a good mountain guide. Prepare myself as best as possible, follow all the necessary courses and direct my life along this path.”
