Ariane: A Teenager Spreading the Good News Through Fashion

Ariane, 17 years old and with faith firmly anchored in her body, heard at the foot of the Blessed Sacrament her call to follow Christ and give her life to Him. Passionate about fashion, she launched her brand of Christian clothing to make the faith accessible and bear concrete witness to the Good News. Meet this extraordinary teenager.

Born into a practicing Catholic family, Ariane received the faith from childhood. Attending Sunday mass, involved in her parish in Mourillon and in a prayer group called “the high school students’ household”, she has always faithfully followed the teachings of the Church. But her life changed one evening in August 2021, when she had a personal encounter with Christ. “That day, I decided to give Him my life and follow Him a little more every day”, she says. Since then, this young high school student has chosen to become more involved in her parish and to offer a free hour to the Lord every Tuesday morning, to worship Him before starting her day. “At first I started because there was an announcement at mass to say that they were looking for worshippers. I really felt that I had to do this, because it was going to give me a lot of fruit in my faith,” she remembers. Today, she testifies to the graces she was able to receive at the foot of the Blessed Sacrament: “Worship is one of the biggest pillars of my life of faith. This is what really fulfilled me, but also emancipated me, in all areas of my life, that is to say not only in terms of my faith, but also in terms of my entire personality. I feel like the adoration has really been a big support.”

“I want to enable young Christians to carry their faith with style”

Fortified by this spiritual nourishment and firmly convinced of the power of God in our lives, Ariane launched a somewhat crazy project a year ago: creating her clothing brand to proudly wear Christ everywhere and in all circumstances. “One day, I was looking for Christian t-shirts or clothing that could allow me to affirm my faith, and I couldn’t find any. So I said to myself “create them”. Fashion is very important for young people, especially for me. Teenagers go through it a lot to assert their identity,” Ariane explains to us. “I want to enable young Christians to carry their faith with style”.

Thus was born Godwear, this line of clothing with a minimalist style and clear and universal messages, which helps to spread the Good News. “I draw a lot of inspiration from current trends, adding messages that are meaningful to me. I changed the personal development phrases, which are often found on fashionable clothing, with Christian phrases that really resonate with my faith. »

On the brand’s website, some articles to support young Christians in their faith are offered, because “Beyond creating a brand, I would love to create a community that is truly Christian, invested, but not boring. I would like us to see that we can organize fun things and that it’s not just old people at church. I want to bring young people back to mass, because there aren’t many teenagers”.

Ariane’s advice to young people:

Go to worship! It changed my life, my way of evangelizing, of affirming my faith and my personality in general.
Let us not deny our faith, in our schools, in our classes, because “being Catholic is not stylish”. You can be Catholic and stylish. It is not incompatible.
