The “Punkt 12” concert in St. Joseph’s Church on Saturday strayed into the tango country of Argentina and Brazil. The repertoire was exclusively South American. The first three pieces were dedicated to Astor Piazzolla. The matinee began with “Zita”, the second movement from the suite “Troileana”, a playful number with a melancholic touch. This was followed by the film music, the tango “Oblivion”, “Adiós Nonino” and “Recuerdo” from the “Tango Argentino” repertoire and “Bachianas brasileiras” by Heitor Villa-Lobos.

The church music department had invited the two musicians for the concert, the state-certified leader in the field of rock/pop/jazz classical Nico Grazwho, like Piazolla, played the bandoneon and the classically trained Florian Kohlscheen on guitar. Together they operate under the name “DuoNova”. Kohlscheen’s musical adventure took the musician to Granada in Andalusia, where he was initiated into the secrets of the flamenco guitar. Alexandra Reger read the Sunday Gospel.
