The main actors in “Vortex” are the Italian Daria Argento and the French Françoise Lebrun. The Belgian Benoît Debie was the director of photography or camera director. “Vortex” was previously shown at the Cannes Film Festival. Gaspar Noé shot the film in just six months, within the limitations of the corona era, with few actors, in a limited location and with a lot of room for improvisation. There was also a personal motivation: the director’s mother died from the effects of dementia and he himself recently recovered from a brain haemorrhage.
