Intellectuals, artists and members of social organizations are promoting this Wednesday the formation of the Argentine chapter of the Antifascist International, created during a world congress held in Venezuela to stop the advance of extremist forces.

The event took place in Caracas on the 10th and 11th of this month and among its objectives is the search for unity and the decision to make Latin America and the world a space where the right to life and human dignity prevail.

Delegates from dozens of countries reiterated their solidarity with the Bolivarian Republic and denounced the destabilizing actions, violence, armed conspiracies, foreign interference and the smear campaign through hegemonic media, digital platforms and social networks.

Following the conference, Argentines Atilio Borón, Paula Klachko, Rafael Klejzer, Paula Giménez, Paola Gallo and Carlos Aznárez, among others, shared the main conclusions of the meeting with residents of the Padre Mujica neighborhood of this capital.

During the meeting, the current Latin American context was analyzed, especially the national one, and an exchange was held on the need to combat everything that threatens democracy, human rights and social justice. “This is the beginning of a path of anti-fascist hope, in defense of humanity, that humanity that is in each one of the people who welcomed us and that we hope to find in every corner of our country,” the participants said in a statement.

They also called for participation in a global day of struggle against fascism and in support of Venezuela on the 28th.
