Argentina’s Prüne boosts Mishka with two starts in Buenos Aires

Prüne gives gas to Mishka after his purchase. The Argentine leather goods group, which bought the footwear company at the end of 2016, has begun to reap the rewards of its acquisition and consolidate the company’s expansion plan.

Mishka has launched a new establishment in the Alto Palermo shopping center in Buenos Aires, as reported by Lucas Farrell, commercial director of Prüne, to Modaes. The one hundred square meter store is located on the first floor of the complex, where Prüne is also present.

Soon, Mishka will raise the blinds of another point of sale in the Argentine capital. The company is preparing to open a store in the Galerías Pacífico shopping centerwhere other companies such as La Martina, Rapsodia, Sarkany or Tommy Hilfiger operate.

As Modaes had advanced, Prüne’s plan was to take Mishka to the main shopping centers in Buenos Aires and with the new openings, the group is getting closer to the goal. AlsoMishka launched a pop up store in Arcos Districtwhich will be open in the next five months.

Founded in 2001 by two Argentine architects, Mishka operates solely in its local market with more than a dozen stores. The company was bought by Prüne at the end of 2016 and in the medium term, the company will begin its expansion abroad, starting with Chile.

The purchase of Mishka brought about some changes in the structure of the company. Prüne has unified the administrative, systems and human resources areas of both groups, although departments such as production, design and marketing continue to operate independently.

Prüne, for its part, has set itself the goal of advancing in its internationalization and landing soon in Mexico. Another of Prüne’s priorities for the medium term is its entry into Colombia.

Founded in 1999 in Buenos Aires, Prüne operates in Chile, Paraguay, Bolivia, Peru and Uruguay. In its local market, the Argentine group operates with almost ninety stores in Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Rosario and Mendoza, among other cities in the country. The company ended its 2017 financial year with a growth of 35% and expects to increase its turnover by 20% this year.
