Argentina’s President likens the epidemic to “blind walking in a swamp”

Argentine President Alberto Fernandez compared today, Wednesday, the new Corona virus (Covid-19) epidemic to a “blind walk in a swamp”, after the discovery of a new strain of the virus recently, which raised questions about the effectiveness of vaccines.

Dealing with the health crisis “is the closest thing to a blind walk in a swamp, because you don’t know where to put your steps,” Fernandez said during the opening of a correctional hospital in Lomas de Zamora, about 20 km south of the capital, Buenos Aires.

He added, according to the official Telam news agency, “When we thought that the problem was on its way to being solved, a strain appeared in Europe, and it seems that everything has started again, the same nightmare.”

Argentina had recorded its first case of COVID-19 on March 3, and had reported a total of 1555,279 cases and 42,254 deaths as of Tuesday night.
