The agents of the Ministry of Commerce are the “last bastion” of the government of Alberto, Cristina and Sergio to try to stop the inflationary acceleration promoted by a huge monetary issue.
After the “oil operation,” this week came the turn of beef with inspections aimed at enforcing the agreement called “Fair Meat Prices.”
Tombolini began a “witch hunt” to try to find those guilty of the resounding failure of the “oil trust”
Apparently, despite the non-existence of it on the shelves, the “meat agreement” is still in force until June 15, through which supermarket chains should offer roasts at a price of $1,116/kg, buttocks at $1,483 /kg, matambre at $1,413/kg, empty at $1,458/kg, brisket at $728/kg, shoulder at $1,200/kg and roast tapa at $1,116/kg.
The reality is that the lack of inflationary control is so unleashed that such supposed prices have not even appeared in the official list of supermarket offers for a long time.
To try, perhaps, that the monthly price survey carried out by INDEC technicians does not end so badly, the Secretary of Internal Commerce implemented an operation to sanction more than 50 branches of different supermarkets that, according to the official, failed to comply with the price agreement despite being a supposedly voluntary initiative.
Inspectors from the Ministry of Commerce toured supermarkets in the city and Greater Buenos Aires on Monday to verify the price, signage and stock of the seven cuts included in the “Fair Meat Prices” program.
During the operation -says an official statement- the quality of the product offered and the quantity of stock in the cold rooms were also controlled.
The inspectors drew up records for infractions in 51 branches of the 103 supermarkets surveyed of the Carrefour, Coto, Cencosud and Changomás chains.
The meat exporting companies belonging to the ABC, UNICA and FIFRA chambers participate in the meat agreement, as well as the supermarkets and hypermarkets integrated into the ASU, CAS and FASA chambers.
In terms not explicit but implicit, the possibility of exporting bovine cuts depends on the delivery, by the slaughterhouses, of a certain monthly volume of meat at “fair prices”, that is, maximum values determined by the Ministry of Commerce.
The meat is weak 1: They expect exporting meatpackers to almost triple the supply of cheap cuts to the local market, going from 6,000 to 15,000 tons per month
