Outstanding parathletes from Argentina at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games
Among the highlights is the men’s blind soccer team, known as The Bats. This team has reached the podium in four of its five previous participations, obtaining the medal of Silver in Athens 2004 and Tokyo 2020and the bronze one in Beijing 2008 and Rio 2016.
Expectations are also placed on the athletics disciplines, with Yanina Martinez as a leading figure: in the T36 category he won gold in the 100-meter flat Rio 2016 and won bronze in the 200-meter flat race Tokio 2020.
In wheelchair tennis, Gustavo Fernandez will seek to add an Olympic podium to his prolific career with five Grand Slam wins on the professional circuit: Roland Garros 2016 and 2019, Australia 2017 and 2019 and Wimbledon 2019.
The standard-bearers of the Argentine delegation will be the sprinter Hernan Barretowho won three bronze medals between Rio 2016 and London 2012 in T35 and the table tennis player Constanza Garrone.
