Argentina’s economy faces difficult times in the near future with austerity and significant spending cuts, but only radical changes can save this South American country from the biggest economic crisis in decades, Argentina’s new president, Javier Millay, announced in his inauguration speech after taking the oath of office on Sunday, reports Financial Times.
“Today we end the long and sad history of decadence and decline and begin the road to rebuilding our country. We face titanic challenges, but the true strength of a people can be measured by how they deal with the problems of their own making,” the 53-year-old right-wing politician declared supporters speak at the parliament, which was watched by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi, the King of Spain Felipe VI, the Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán and the ex-President of Brazil Jair Bolsonaro among other invited guests.
