Argentina wins 2-0 over France

Jakarta, CNNI Indonesia

Argentina winning 2-0 over France until halftime of the final World Cup 2022 at Lusail Stadium, Qatar on Sunday (18/12).

Argentina appeared dominant in the first half. Team Tango looks more dangerous in building attacks and creating chances.

Shot on target the first came in the fifth minute after Alexis Mac Allister fired a speculative shot from outside the box. The ball ends up in the arms of Hugo Lloris.

The match was stopped in the ninth minute when Lloris picked up an injury. The France captain has felt pain in his stomach after being hit by his Tottenham team-mate Cristian Romero.

Angel Di Maria nearly gave Argentina the lead in the 17th minute, but his shot into the box still went high. Likewise with Olivier Giroud’s header in the 20th minute.

Argentina then took a 1-0 lead over France thanks to a Lionel Messi penalty in the 23rd minute. Messi managed to outwit French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris with a penalty into the left corner of the goal.

Argentina were awarded a penalty after Angel Di Maria was fouled by Ousmane Dembele. The replay shows Dembele’s hand pushing Di Maria who controlled the ball into the penalty area.

Argentina then won 2-0 thanks to Angel Di Maria’s fine goal in the 36th minute. Starting with the excellent collaboration between Lionel Messi and Julian Alvarez, Argentina carried out a brilliant counter-attack which split the French defence.

Alvarez then sent the ball to Alexis Mac Allister who escaped the offside trap. Mac Allister then carefully watched Angel Di Maria loosely beat Hugo Lloris.

Under the two goals Didier Deschamps decided to insert Marcus Thuram and Randal Kolo Muani in place of Olivier Giroud and Ousmane Dembele. But France failed to score until the first 45 minutes.

The 2-0 score for Argentina lasted until the end of the first half.
