MADRID, 23 Feb. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The Minister of Security of Argentina, Patricia Bullrich, has personally congratulated the president of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, for his policies to combat insecurity, which the Government of Javier Milei now aspires to replicate. “We want to follow the model that you are carrying forward,” she declared.
Bullrich and Bukele met in Washington on the occasion of the summit of the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), which brings together ultra-conservative voices from different parts of the world, including Milei himself – he is scheduled to speak on Saturday.
The Argentine minister has shared on her social networks a video of her meeting with Bukele and in which she applauds that El Salvador has gone “from a daily massacre” and from being “a country controlled by gangs” to becoming “a society where life is taken care of. “An experience where people are cared for and the criminal is not welcome,” she highlights.
Bullrich has criticized that, despite having lowered the crime rate and “saved millions of lives”, he “still” has to “withstand criticism.” “We put in a lot of effort and we need to get to that place too,” he said.
For his part, Bukele, who only intervenes at the end, puts himself “at the disposal” for whatever the Argentine authorities need.
