Argentina sends materials to Mexico to produce 6 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine

On January 4, the health regulator in Mexico, “Cofpress”, authorized the use of the AstraZeneca vaccine, which is expected to be available in the country from March, according to the production capacity of the company that will manufacture it.

And the “active substance” in this vaccine is produced in Argentina by the “MapScience” company, before it is shipped to Mexico, where the “Leumont” laboratory will produce the vaccine doses.

According to the Mexican government, Mapcience and Leumont will be able to produce about 250 million doses to meet demand in Latin America.

And the Mexican government previously concluded a contract with AstraZeneca to obtain 77.4 million doses of its vaccine.
