Argentina recorded the highest number of new daily cases of Covid-19 disease on Friday as the government partially eased general isolation measures to allow more than a dozen people to gather in open spaces with masks.
The restrictions linked to the pandemic began in the country on March 20. President Alberto Fernandez said in a televised speech that the new rules are to be eased further until at least September 20 .. The number of confirmed cases in Argentina so far is 392009, in addition to 8271 deaths.
Fernandes said, “Today we can take a new step through a vacation that gathers up to ten people in open spaces while maintaining a spacing of two meters and putting on a muzzle … This will be applied all over the country,” despite his government registering the highest number of new cases, which reached 11717 cases.
He added that although the Covid-19 statistics in the capital, Buenos Aires, showed some positive signs, the number of cases had increased in the rest of the country.
The mayor of Buenos Aires said on Friday that he plans starting this week to approve restaurants serving customers at outdoor tables and the city is also considering a gradual resumption of construction activity.
