Argentina qualify for the round of 16 World Cup 2022 after beating Poland 2-0 in the last day of Group C, Thursday (1/12) early morning WIB.
Argentina seemed to dominate the attack in the first half. A total of eight were scored on goal, but none of the goals were successfully scored by the Albiceleste.
Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny’s brilliant performance prevented Argentina from scoring. In the 39th minute the Juventus goalkeeper even managed to deflect Lionel Messi’s penalty kick.
Poland was too busy defending and relied only on counterattacks. Robert Lewandowski has had a hard time creating clean chances because he hasn’t received a nutrient boost from the second row.
Despite the dominant attacks, Argentina had to settle for a 0-0 draw in the first half.
Argentina’s long-awaited goal was finally born early in the second half. A skilful partnership between Angel Di Maria, Nahuel Molina and Alexis MacAllister managed to put Argentina up 1-0 in the 47th minute.
Molina’s horizontal cross from the right wing was successfully completed by MacAllister who got out of control. MacAllister’s close-range strike in the penalty area could no longer be contained by Szczesny.
Winning a goal to make Argentina even more excited. Messi almost widened the score in the 53rd minute with great individual action across the penalty area, only his shot went wide.

Argentina continued to control the game and did not let Poland go free. It’s just that no additional goals are created until the end of the game.
