Argentina launches the Russian Sputnik V vaccination campaign

Argentina has become the third country in the world to start vaccinating its citizens against the Corona virus using the “Sputnik” vaccine outside the framework of experiments, which led to Russia’s attempts to push the vaccine it developed to developing countries.

And the “Bloomberg” news agency reported that the vaccination operations began simultaneously in the capital, Buenos Aires, and other provinces, at about nine in the morning, local time, today, Tuesday, and it is expected that 300 thousand people will receive the vaccine.

The Argentine Health Regulatory Authority gave urgent emergency approval to use the vaccine last week, after previous approvals it obtained from Russia and Belarus.

Argentine President Alberto Fernandez said on state television, according to the official Argentine news agency “Telam”: “I think that people have great confidence in the vaccine … they do not pay attention to the attempts to intimidate them.”

Through this initiative, Argentina joins North America, the United Kingdom, the European Union, China and Chile in starting the vaccination that is expected to end the epidemic, its deaths and its catastrophic economic effects.
