U-20 World Cup draw 2023 has been completed. replacement host, Argentinain the lightweight group, Italy & Brazil were drawn in one group.
Drawing 2023 U-20 World Cup held at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, Friday (21/4/2023) evening WIB. This lottery was originally supposed to take place in Bali on March 30, but was cancelled.
In the process, the implementation in Indonesia was also canceled by FIFA, after there was a wave of rejection of the Israeli national team. Argentina was appointed as a substitute for Indonesia.
In the draw that was held, Argentina as the host was placed in Group A. They were then drawn in a group with Uzbekistan, Guatemala and New Zealand which were relatively light groups.
Uzbekistan last appeared in 2015, while Guatemala in 2011. New Zealand has finished in the round of 16 in the last three editions.
Meanwhile, the draw has placed two teams with strong football cultures, Italy and Brazil, in Group D. They will compete with Nigeria and the Dominican Republic.
The Israeli national team is in Group C with Senegal, Japan and Colombia. England are in Group E with Uruguay, then France with South Korea in Group F.
