The Argentine national football team fell to a 1-1 draw with Bolivia in the opening match of the “Copa America” South America, which Argentina hosts until July 24th.
Bolivia opened the scoring in the 47th minute, via Advaldo Rojas, to heat up the atmosphere until Argentina equalized via Serjo Aguero 15 minutes before the end of the match.
After the match, Argentine coach Sergio Batista said, “The draw does not match the expectations that we expected from this match, but I am not upset with the team’s performance. I cannot feel happy after this result because we went to the match to win.”
On the other hand, Bolivian coach Gustavo Quintros expressed his deep sadness at the missed opportunity to win over his Argentine counterpart, saying, “We could have decided the match completely through an opportunity that Marcelo Martins missed and from another opportunity that we had later.”
Supporters of the Bolivian national team and the media in Bolivia celebrated the precious draw of their country, and Bolivian Union officials believed in radio statements after the end of the match that the commitment of the players and collective performance was the reason behind this result and the team’s progress over the owners of the land.
Bolivian President Evo Morales, who watched the match at the stadium, congratulated his country and expressed his hope to qualify for the next World Cup finals.

On the other hand, defending champions Brazil will start their title defense campaign when they face Venezuela on Sunday in the first round of Group Two qualifiers.

It is noteworthy that the participating teams were distributed into three groups, the first includes Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia and Costa Rica, the second includes Brazil, Paraguay, Venezuela and Ecuador, while the third includes Chile, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay.
