Argentina Beef Prices Show Significant Increase Compared to Substitute Meats – IPCVA Field Work Report

The Institute for the Promotion of Argentine Beef (IPCVA) carried out field work in Rosario during the first and second half of September to understand the price panorama and compare it with substitute meats.

According to the survey, which is restricted to 30 butcher shops and 15 supermarkets, the average retail prices of beef in this area showed a variation of 15.1% compared to the previous month and an increase of 162.4% compared to September of 2022.

The price of the average beef in this market shows a variation of 9.4% compared to the previous month and 160.8% compared to September 2022.

The biggest price increases in September of this year occurred in common bait (18.5%), skirt (18.2%) and buttock cap (17%).

Chicken and pork

The price of fresh chicken showed increases of 20.6% in September 2023 and registered a year-on-year increase of 147%.

For its part, the price of pork breast rose 10.2% compared to the previous month and 100.9% compared to the values ​​recorded a year ago.
