It went well: Cardona changes the game

Cardona entered the second half and changed the game to Colombia. The attacking midfielder was responsible for taking control of the breeding zone and provided a series of opportunities for his team.

Bad: Borré makes a lot of fouls and plays little

Rafael Santos Borré, who has already been the target of Guild and Palmeiras, played little. The striker who left River Plate and will play in German football committed many fouls, was irritated, and was substituted at half-time.

Messi proposes Argentina’s game

Lionel Messi attracts all the plays from Argentina. Even though he started the game more on the right side, the ace was free to appear in the center and even on the left. Where any play began to draw, there was shirt 10 with his dribbles, passes and effect plays. It didn’t take long for the first goal of the game to come out of his feet, by Lautaro Martínez. The assist was his fifth in the competition, his ninth participation in goals in the Cup.

Argentina misses incredible chance

In the second half, after a wrong retreat by Muñoz, Argentina had an incredible chance that was wasted. Lautaro Martínez crashed without a goalkeeper and was unable to beat Barrios, who took him off the line. On the rebound, Di María threw it out.

Duel with “Liberators Face”

Argentina and Colombia strictly followed one of the sayings that is repeated in duels of liberators. “You don’t play a knockout, you fight.” With that in mind, there were still rough plays, fouls, carts, strong entries, from both sides. It was a duel with the characteristic delivery of soccer sul-americana.

Argentina’s game: Early goal and retreat to defense

Argentina scored early. Much due to the good performance of Messi, Scaloni’s team needed only six minutes to jump ahead. And the advantage changed the team’s behavior. Instead of looking for the goal and proposing the actions of the match, once in front, the team backed off and left the ball with Colombia. With a desire to secure the victory, the defensive quartet and the middle trio were repeatedly demanded, but they showed security.

Colombia’s game: Little creativity in attack

Colombia suffered a hard blow early in the match. Lautaro Martínez’s goal conditioned the actions of Reinaldo Rueda’s team. But there was no disorganization. The Colombian team took control of the game after 20 minutes, but sinned in the creative sector. The insistence on the right, the inability of the midfielders to participate and the journeys below the expectations of the attackers stopped actions with more effective results in the first half. But in the second, after three replacements by Reinaldo Rueda, the creation increased and the tie came with Diaz.
