Argema’s group cries. Her former singer and author of the greatest hits has died

“Unfortunately, we received a very sad news. Today, Zbyněk” BOBR “Horák left us forever – a singer, composer, lyricist and guitarist who was an integral part of Argema,” the band said on Facebook on Saturday night.

Horák was one of the founding members of Argema in 1982. He performed with the band until 1989. He wrote dozens of hits for it, such as Tohle je ráj or Modré pondělí, which together with Jarošovský pivovar are among the most famous songs by Argema.

He earned the nickname Beaver Horák as a child, when he performed with a brass band and dulcimer band all over Europe. He composed music from the age of 13, and from 1979 he performed with the band Stres, which they subsequently had to be renamed Meteor. He and Karel Holomáček left it in 1982 and founded Argem. The name was chosen after the African tropical butterfly Argema Mittrei, which lives in Madagascar.

After leaving Argema, Horák also collaborated with Jaroslav Uhlíř and Zdeněk Svěrák on the show Hodina zpěěv, then performed with the bands Pumpa and GIGI 21. In the mid-1990s, he performed again with Argema as a guest. There he met Martin Motýl and together in 1999 they formed the duo Beaver & Butterfly. They sang together until 2005.

On her website and on Facebook, Argema reminded a deceased friend of a music video for the song Vyznání, which Horák wrote. Although he had to compose about 150 songs together, Confession, where the chorus sings You are my love, you are my dream, it should have been his favorite:
