Each one has its own character, it can be welcoming, surprising, sometimes intimidating, have a certain nobility or the beauty of simplicity. “There are the hidden doors of a huge forgotten castle, the hidden doors that allow you to build the wall,… The secret doors that allow you to go back in time, the doors that open onto the great History! A door is an entrance to the mystery of yesteryear, … It is a passage in time, a crossing towards the universe, … A door is hope, the hope of taking the key to fields, to find the side roads, … It’s another world that slips away under our doorsteps, unless it’s the doors that slip away, …”. Stories, always stories, … Françoise , Denise, Mireille, Véronique, Myriam took out their most beautiful pens to write stories about the most beautiful doors of Argelès-Gazost and invited the public to wander from door to door in the streets of Argeles to listen to these stories. Inspired by Martine Cazabonne’s book “From door to door” in the Pays Toy, in Val d’Azun, the troupe of the Diagonale theater company, under the direction of Laurence Laburthe, embarked for the first time on this writing project guided by Francoise Pauly. “They really got into the game, and these texts are magnificently well written” testifies Françoise Pauly, who was really very happy to see the fruit of all this writing work. At the end of October, on a beautiful autumn day, they carried around thirty people into their poetic whirlwind, traveling from nooks to small secret corners of the city in search of these mysterious doors. A very original and moving way of discovering all these details that surround us, but which we cannot see, yet they are there, full of history! At the beginning of November, they started a new reading workshop session, which takes place at Kairn every Monday morning, in order to rehearse a new text. A new project open to all those who would be interested in several months of rehearsal, and which will then give rise to new shows.
