Doctor Ángel Mamani Ruelas, specialist at the Carlos Alberto Seguín Escobedo Hospital in EsSalud Arequipa, won first place in the First Competition “Let’s Promote Research-Research Projects”, organized by the Training, Research and Teaching Office in coordination with the Directorate of the Health Technology Assessment and Research Institute (IETSI).
The competition organized by IETSI aims to promote the generation of scientific evidence for decision-making, as well as to recognize the scientific merits of healthcare professionals.
The Fomentos de Investigación competition brought together eight excellent works, in which doctors and nurses addressed complex issues related to diseases such as cancer, autoimmune diseases and also addressed the causes of the insured’s dissatisfaction with the treatments in EsSalud.
The second place in the competition was occupied by Dr. Ángel Arturo Zárate Curi, with his research work “Factors related to patient dissatisfaction in the emergency service of the Carlos Alberto Seguín Escobedo Hospital. The work aims to identify why patients are dissatisfied with social security and thus help improve the quality of care.
Third place went to Dr. Gonzalo Arturo Medina Bueno, specialist of the Unit of Gynecology, Oncology and Breast Pathology, with the research project: “Pathological response of the breast and axilla after neoadjuvant chemotherapy in patients with breast cancer according to the phenotype molecular”.
Thanks to the exceptional participation of medical researchers from the Carlos Alberto Seguín Escobedo Hospital, the EsSalud Arequipa care network recognized and awarded the winners of the competition.
