Treating dozens of coronavirus carriers daily in hospitals cost the lives of 17 doctors from Arequipa. The professional victims of the Wuhan disease are part of the 77 thousand 804 people carrying COVID-19 who have registered since March 7 in the region.
Unfortunately, a large number of the deceased were members of the medical staff of hospitals such as Honorio Delgado Espinoza, Carlos Alberto Seguín Escobedo and other health centers in the periphery.

Pino, despite being interned in a hospital bed, always made known the irregularities that were committed in the Health sector.

They regret departure. The dean of the Medical College, Javier Gutiérrez Morales, was one of the first to pronounce on Pino’s death and indicated that it is an irreparable loss, not only for the medical community but also for Arequipa.
