This time we were interested in the Avia A30 with a residential superstructure. The car was manufactured in 1975, has just over 84,000 kilometers behind it and today “stands” on veteran brands. And it is also remarkable that in 2020 it underwent a rejuvenation process.
The renovation mainly involved the modernization of technology and the replacement of a number of parts, Avia received, for example, new brakes, a new cardan shaft, a new air vent, a new starter, new shock absorbers, new pins, new wiring, new lights and much more. The owner also decided on a new varnish.

“And just as of June 1, Avia has a MOT for the next two years,” adds owner Martin Martínek. He bought the unusual apartment in 2014. “I bought the Avia from an acquaintance who owned it since the early 1990s. At that time, after the revolution, he bought it for 300,000 crowns, which was huge money,” says Martínek.
The previous owner used the car to travel to motocross races in which his son competed. Unfortunately, Martínek does not know what Avia’s story was before the revolution. We have no idea who exactly made the A30 a motorhome.
The car now offers sleeping for up to six people, four can fit on two sofa beds located opposite each other and two in the space above the cabin, a kitchenette with a gas stove and refrigerator, or a small room for a chemical toilet. There are two sinks in the car and a new 220V distribution is also suitable.
The drive is provided by a 3.3-liter diesel four-cylinder, which as new provided a maximum output of 59 kW. The four-speed manual transmission has a shift unusually unusual in the floor, the standard Avia A30 had a shift at the steering wheel.
And the price? Retro apartment house of Czechoslovak origin is k man for 139 thousand crowns.
