Rising risks around the Arènes fuel depot: local residents are waiting for solutions.
Burned cars, night-time mortar and rocket fire add the risk of conflagration to the pollution of the Arena military fuel site, located in the heart of a civilian residential area although classified as Seveso (high risk).
With, moreover, the proximity of drug and arms trafficking around Pontcarral: the concern of local residents has increased particularly since February.
The inhabitants of this district face:
– health risks related to particles emitted by hydrocarbons,
– urban violence in a dangerous environment,
– fire risks aggravated by the presence of many plants,
and ask the military and civilian authorities to implement the necessary measures to reduce and eliminate these risks as soon as possible.
