Arema FC Conquered in the Hands of Persik Kediri

Arema FC subdued Peach Kediri in continuation BRI League 1. Singo Edan lost 0-1 to his fellow East Java team.

Laga Arema FC vs Persik Kediri took place at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Stadium, Sunday (27/2/2022) evening WIB. Persik had surprised at the start of the match with Fahmi Al Ayyubi’s goal, but it was ruled out for offside.

Arema FC had a chance in the 24th minute when Carlos Fortes’ shot hit the post. But recently he was also in an offside position as decided by the linesman.

Another opportunity from Fortes not long ago, his header ended next to the Persik goal. Ahead of the break, Arema FC spread a number of threats from Johan Ahmad Farisi and Fortes, but failed to produce a goal.

Arema FC continued the pressure in the second half. Sandi Sute’s free kick was blocked by the Persik goalkeeper.

Persik then scored in the 84th minute. Risna Prahalabenta’s free kick slid into the Arema FC goal.

This goal was the only one created in the match, as well as marking the second consecutive defeat for Arema FC. They also failed to reclaim the top of the standings from the hands of Bali United.

Arema FC is stuck in second place with 55 points from 28 matches, two points behind Bali United, which has only played 27 times. Peach is now in eighth position with 36 points.
