Addressing the UN Security Council on Tuesday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has called on Russia to be prosecuted for crimes committed in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president also challenged the UN, saying it must act immediately or stop working.
Zelensky called on the UN Security Council, which aims for international peace and security, to exclude Russia so that it cannot block decisions affecting its aggression on the war it has begun in Ukraine.
Russia, as one of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, has a veto that it regularly uses to block resolutions and negotiations that are bad for it.
“If there is no alternative and no other option, then the next option is to stop working,” Zelensky said.
The United Nations could simply be shut down, Zelensky said.
“Ladies and gentlemen, are you ready to close the UN? Is the time for international law gone? If your answer is no, then you must act immediately, “the President of Ukraine emphasized.
