There is always a distinct difference between a go-getter (GG) and a silent plodder (QP). The obvious story, of course, is the story of the Rabbit and the Turtle.
But which are you?
Since your entire strategy for business and success in business revolves around adapting to your personality and how you approach everyday life, it makes sense to know what your characteristics are so that you can take advantage of your own. better features. and change or cover up your less attractive side.
Let’s take a look at Go-Getter first.
Generally an extrovert, an enterprising person travels through life at incredible speed, trying to get rid of all obstacles in his path.
Now, whether the obstacle was human or not, it didn’t matter. For the truly enterprising, nothing, but nothing should stand in the way of progress to the top of the stack.
At school, enterprising people always volunteer to do important work. GG wouldn’t even think anyone else might want a chance. It belongs to GG Good to get all the important monitoring positions in each class of the school.
So, in the future, GG is a person who strives to become the president of a company or club. GG wants to decide what happened.
Then in the world of work, the mediocre GG tends to take all the breaks. Strive to reach the top. And it works most of all, it must be said, because GG gives 100% for everything that is entered. However, is GG satisfied with the position, knowing that it is cruelty that takes the top spot? Probably not. Will GG stay on top? Again, maybe not.
So what about Quiet Plodder?
Obviously one of the people behind the scenes in life, the taciturn allows others, even other people, to steal the limelight.
It’s not that the QP isn’t interested in success. No, it’s just that QP is looking for and getting a less glamorous approach to life. Much more comfortable being the brain behind the operation than the blood and bowels at the forefront. QP gets satisfaction from knowing that the job was successful thanks to QP’s input.
Often QP, the down-to-earth idea producer, relies on GG’s penchant for being the center of attention to hide under the “Bushel”. However, secretly, QP wants to be in first place, but is too shy to do anything. But when GG falls from power, people often fall back on the compromise candidate, QP. Is QP satisfied with the position? Probably not because it is uncertain that QP will be in first place if someone else is available.
Now, of course, no one is completely one of these characters. But many people show a marked inclination towards one or the other.
Why is it important to recognize your character traits? And how can you solve this?
First, the importance of finding or recognizing your character traits.
Before thinking about these things, you may have lived your life without understanding why different people react to you in different ways.
Obviously you will find that you are always friends with a certain “type” of people.
Are you the one everyone welcomes immediately, or are you the one sneaking into groups or conversations, and people are always surprised when they realize you’re there.
But once you know what your character is like, you can use it to your advantage.
If you are a GG, then, you can reduce or dominate your natural cravings, so you don’t piss people off because you don’t give them a chance to talk or do something.
In business, this can result in listening more attentively to the opinions of others, especially partners and customers. You will be amazed at what you will learn!
And on the bright side, people will be more willing to give you the benefit of the doubt when the inevitable mistake is made, and more willing to lend a hand. So that when a high position is reached, you enjoy more and stay in that position longer.
If you are a QP, things are a little more difficult. It means forcing yourself out of your comfort zone.
You should try to make your views more recognizable. Make an effort to start a conversation. And you will be surprised to find that once they realize that you have some important points to make, people will listen to you more.
The amazing thing is that the profit for you is exactly the same as for GG!
And for the all-important question of how to recognize how much of each feature you have.
Well, again, everyone is the same. Or at least everyone can use the same method.
(1) First, you need to make a conscious effort to try to see yourself as others see you. Put yourself in the shoes of the people you relate to.
How will you react to what you say and do?
Compare this to how your friends and colleagues react.
(2) As you relax at home in the evening, try to remember the events of that day and remember how you behaved in various situations. Take notes and then after a while compare similar events. Notice any patterns in your behavior.
(3) Then try to predict any situation similar to the one you observed earlier. Change your normal behavior and watch the reactions of your colleagues and friends. In the evening, write down your findings. After a while, compare all of your results.
(4) Continue your observation until you have completed all the different situations in which you interacted with other people.
(5) So you have to put all your results together. On one side of a piece of paper was Go-Getter and on the other side was Quiet Plodder. Then, using all the information you’ve gathered, write your behavior over the past few months on the appropriate side.
This will show you which feature, GG or QP, you are likely to choose. If you have the same number of entries on each side of your sheet of paper, then you need to consider the importance, as you can see, of the information you wrote on each side and give weight to each section. You should be able to work out your answer from the total on each side.
So it’s up to you to make the most of the information you find!
