Are the pensions recalculated correctly? Labor Minister says ‘pretty much’

The Minister of Labor, Simona Bucura-Oprescu, appeals to pensioners who believe that they are wrong with the decisions made after the recalculation of pensions to contact territorial pension houses to verify the calculation. She explained how retirees can verify the decision to recalculate themselves, using their most recent retirement decision and length of service data.

“The pensioner is the one who has the opportunity to go to the Pension House to issue the decision. And this is my first request and invitation for all pensioners in Romania: if they feel the need for additional clarification from our colleagues from the territorial pension houses, go to them to check to make the recalculation decisions. We start with the idea that our colleagues from the territorial pension houses did their job very well, but it is possible that either due to incorrect entry of data in the valuation process on the pension files or as due to other errors we may have as well. situations where the pensioners are in a position to find, in relation to the retirement decisions they had, that, in their opinion, there are differences. And then I ask him to go to the territorial pension houses to do the necessary checks, to clarify together with our colleagues”, said the Minister of Labor, Monday night, on Antena 3, according to News.ro.

Bucura-Oprescu explained that after pensioners address this issue to the pension houses of the area, checks will be made if the data in the pensioner’s file are the same as those in the IT application, and if further investigations are required, they will request that the file be retrieved from the archive. After this procedure, the pension houses, either ex officio or at the pensioner’s request, can review the decision.

“My view is that the recalculation decisions are largely given correctly. Pensioners must look in the last retirement decision (…) go to the score they had in the decision, which can be found in letter g) paragraph 1, and see the score there. That score is kept in the recalculation decision, to which the stability points are added. Each pensioner can also easily calculate the stability points, knowing that we have 0.5 points for periods longer than 25 years, for periods between 30 and 35 years we have 0.75 points and over 35 years we have a point , therefore, the pensioner. can he himself do the first investigation of the decision to recount”, explained the minister.
