15 JULY OFFICIAL OFFICIAL HOLIDAY?

July 15 is the official holiday, was accepted by the Turkish Grand National Assembly in 2017. Here, that law;

ARTICLE 1- (1) The name of “Kazan District” of Ankara Province has been changed to “Kahramankazan”.

ARTICLE 2- (1) The expressions “and 1 May day” in the first paragraph of Article 2 of the Law on National Holidays and General Holidays dated 17.3.1981 as “May 1 and 15 July” and the first paragraph (C ) has been changed as follows.

“C) New Year’s holiday on January 1, Labor and Solidarity Day on May 1 and Democracy and Resistance Day on July 15.”

Making a statement regarding the coup attempt organized by FETÖ on the night of July 15, President Erdoğan said, “Every July 15, our martyrs and veterans will be declared as holidays.”
