Are stricter rules on loans making it more difficult for young people to buy a house? “No”, says National Bank

Enough testimonials from young people who have a hard time buying a decent house. The consultancy Immotheker joined them a few weeks ago with its own figures. For two out of three young people, owning a home is not feasible, it sounded. Ten years ago, the share of young starters that borrowed money through Immotheker was 61 percent, now they still make up 41 percent of the Immotheker clientele. “We have therefore lost about a third of the young people,” said John Romain of Immotheker in the middle of May in the program “De markt” on One.
