Hand rubbing alcohol is mainly intended for use on the skin, but it can also be used on, for example, disposable gloves.
The most common disposable gloves are made of either the natural product latex or artificial nitrile rubber.
None of these materials are damaged by ordinary rubbing alcohol. They do not break down or become permeable to viruses or bacteria, a Korean study led by doctor Jiyoung Chang showed in 2017.
All gloves tested were intact after being disinfected with ordinary hand sanitizer 30 times.
According to the same research project, however, it seems that after about ten sprays, the gloves start to become more difficult to get really clean.
